I have mixed feelings about this item. So much so that I put off reviewing it for a long time. I've owned mine over a year now, and it is time to speak up.

On the one hand, I really want to like it. And not just because I spent a good sized hunk of cash on it. I like the idea of an industrial, commercial-grade toaster that makes great toast, is indestructible, and looks great doing it.

On the other hand, I kind of don't like it. It takes up a lot of space, the slots aren't wide enough for a bagel, or deep enough for a wide piece of bread. I had to buy the optional sandwich cages to allow me to stuff bread into the slots that wouldn't otherwise fit. It needs to be preheated, and even after it is, the toast is inconsistent and uneven.

It does look great on the counter, and feels very heavy-duty. But, it just isn't very good at making toast, and that is supposed to be the point.

Sadly, I don't think I would buy this again.

My love for this toaster lasted all of two days. Were I not so thrilled with its looks, I would have thrown it out in the first 20 minutes. It's like a handsome, charming man who happens to be useless, lazy, and incompetent.

Now two years have passed, and I hate the thing. It still warms up slowly, still toasts WILDLY unevenly, still takes up too much space, still has slots that can't accommodate thick bread or wide bread, and now even the ticking of the timer has begun to get on my nerves. Probably because I know that after three minutes of listening to it, 1/2 of my slice will be toasted, 1/4 of my slice will be burnt black, and 1/4 of my slice will be untouched by heat. I'd have gotten a better piece of toast if I lit the 0 on fire and waved a slice of bread over the flames.

I got online today to buy a new toaster, and decided to swing by here to warn any prospective buyers of this Dualit away!

Rowenta IS9100 Commercial Garment Steamer Reviews

I recently returned the Rowenta Pro Compact steamer in exchange for this "commercial" steamer.

It certainly is a big improvement. The extra 150 watts of steaming power makes a noticeable difference.

There are several features that make this a wonderful unit. The large 1 gallon water tank is clear and easy to remove and refill. The on/off switch and the automatic cord reel are both foot actuated. There are two onboard accessories bins that keep the attachments from disappearing. The steam is powerful, plentiful and literally rolling out in 60 seconds. Also, the unit is quite sturdy.

Unfortunately, there are a few design flaws and disappointing problems. The two large wheels do not roll on my hardwood floors nor on my carpet. Instead as you drag the machine it leaves a nice trail of marks on the floor. The telescoping handles are not secured into the base of the machine and pull out when you attempt to lift the machine. Also, this unit did not come with a handy plastic brush attachment that the cheaper unit did.

Having said all this, the Rowenta Precision Valet Steamer does a wonderful job of removing stubborn wrinkle quickly and easily.

I have used a steamer (different brand) for the last 4 years minus all the nice amenities that the Rowenta IS9100 model has. Last month it started leaking which could not be repaired so I was on the hunt for a new steamer.

I was going to buy the same steamer and then I saw this Rowenta Model IS9100 Commercial one and with all the amenities and I decided to buy this and give it a try. After researching "everything" that was out there on clothes steamers, the Rowenta rose to the top of my list for several reasons. The larger water resorvoir which is fabulous! I can steam many more items now without having to stop and refill it...VERY nice feature.

The adjustable handle is also quite nice, allowing me to push it down and slide it out of the way in my laundry room. The efficient and FAST operation of this unit is also very very good. Seems like you don't even wait a minute or so and you have HOT steam and ready to rock and roll! (As much as you can rock and roll while steaming clothes Less expensive steamers take 3 to 4 times longer to heat up, so this is a great feature. Also very hot steam...be careful ladies, this is a wonderful feature for getting out those really stubborn wrinkles, but it really smarts if you accidentally get a thumb in the way

The automatic cord rewind is another great feature. Before with my old steamer I had to wind my cord around and around and around my stand, which usually fell down anyway.

The garment rack on top is also great...just throw your shirt, sweater over the shoulder forms and steam away....then slide your hanger on and hang up...viola...done...kaput....give me the next item to steam. It rolls great and overall this is one top notch steamer.

So, if you are in the market and looking for a solid steamer...you won't find one better than this! I love mine! (If you couldn't tell You really will not find one better. Remember that old saying "You get what you pay for"...well this is worth every cent!

This was purchased for use in our church. We already had a larger urn, but needed one that wasn't so large for a different function, so as not to waste unneeded coffee. This was purchased both for it's in-between size and because it is stainless steel, not aluminum. Aluminum can leach into liquids and is detrimental to your health. So now, both of our church's coffee urns are stainless. We like this unit, and it has been performing quite well! I give it a 5-star.

Hi all,

This was our second or third 20-30+ cup coffee maker purchased in the past 3 years. We bought it last April from another online store (that was a mistake-- I should know better by now to always buy "from" Amazon directly).

We use our coffee makers simply to heat water for coffee presses and tea. We never use the percolator.

I liked the fact that this coffee maker actually heats the water up to boiling and then occasionally reheats it to boiling again. This is great for our purpose, but I imagine when percolating coffee that means your coffee will be recooked through the day if you leave it on.

The bad news was the primary heating element burned out after 6 months-- only the warmer now works.

I went to the Continental Electrics related website, followed their directions to contact Customer Service for a repair or return authorization but have never heard anything again from them.

When there are some awesome customer service people out there, evidently this IS NOT one of them.

I quit waiting and ordered a new machine directly from Amazon where I know I at least have 30 days to return if we don't like our newest addition.

UPDATE Nov. 29, 2009--- We never did hear from customer service on this. Gave up and threw it out, making a note to not purchase from this company again.
